Message from the Regional Director

Success in fulfilling DILG’s vision of building peaceful, self-reliant and progressive communities throughout the

Philippines is determined by the synergy of numerous factors pertaining to delivery of quality services to the Filipino people, responsiveness to the needs of the Local Government Units, and cooperation with various sectors of society with whom we deal each day.

For the past years, DILG Region VI has reached and, in some aspects, surpassed its working targets and goals. We have also successfully implemented many programs and innovations throughout Western Visayas and, indeed, look forward to introducing more of these as we seek to improve our ways and means in local governance. The creation and institutionalization of the Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC) is one such innovation – to provide a physical and virtual repository of knowledge materials, resources and support that will enable our LGUs to become the best they could be.
